Project: Hope

Hello from Haiti!

by Project: Hope on Jan.15, 2009, under General

This is an actual post from Haiti. Thanks for the phone updates. We apologize for lack of internet. We were able to connect to the hotel’s system, but their internet is down. At the orphanage, there is limited power right now, as the generator for that was taken to the church because it was stolen.

It is Thursday morning. Things are going amazing. We have been able to pray with almost every single one of the patients. So many have come to know Jesus. We were able to tell people for the first time about who Jesus is.

The nurses are currently seeing the boys at the orphanage. We are at House of Hope, where Preston and Ruth Johnson are seeing little Bethany, whom their parents are adopting. She is having a hard time getting use to our white skin.

We will head to Thomazeau today for the final tim and see the last of the patients. We had one lady come in with her sister’s baby that was born at 6am yesterday. We were able to get the baby the proper care and hoping the mother comes in today.

The rides have been rough and have gotten stuck many times, but we have been very safe.

Haiti is much cleaner and organized than ever before.

Friday we hope to go to the women’s prison to bring clorox to clean their water system, pray with them, and give them personal products. We will definately see Pastor J’s church people next to our hotel as well. We hope to spend a few hours in the mountains.

Finally, the boys at the orphanage have been a blessing and their love is amazing.

We have plenty of pictures and videos to show you when we get home.

We hear it will get to -21 below today. It is in the mid 90s here.

We’ll update you all more when we get back, if not sooner.

Thanks for your continued prayers. God has truly blessed us!

-Kris
