Thanks for your prayers!

Our trip was great! We are working on updating the website with the latest info. Thanks for your patience. It takes some time to get back into the swing of things once we get back.
Hello from Haiti!
by Project: Hope on Jan.15, 2009, under General
This is an actual post from Haiti. Thanks for the phone updates. We apologize for lack of internet. We were able to connect to the hotel’s system, but their internet is down. At the orphanage, there is limited power right now, as the generator for that was taken to the church because it was stolen.
It is Thursday morning. Things are going amazing. We have been able to pray with almost every single one of the patients. So many have come to know Jesus. We were able to tell people for the first time about who Jesus is.
The nurses are currently seeing the boys at the orphanage. We are at House of Hope, where Preston and Ruth Johnson are seeing little Bethany, whom their parents are adopting. She is having a hard time getting use to our white skin.
We will head to Thomazeau today for the final tim and see the last of the patients. We had one lady come in with her sister’s baby that was born at 6am yesterday. We were able to get the baby the proper care and hoping the mother comes in today.
The rides have been rough and have gotten stuck many times, but we have been very safe.
Haiti is much cleaner and organized than ever before.
Friday we hope to go to the women’s prison to bring clorox to clean their water system, pray with them, and give them personal products. We will definately see Pastor J’s church people next to our hotel as well. We hope to spend a few hours in the mountains.
Finally, the boys at the orphanage have been a blessing and their love is amazing.
We have plenty of pictures and videos to show you when we get home.
We hear it will get to -21 below today. It is in the mid 90s here.
We’ll update you all more when we get back, if not sooner.
Thanks for your continued prayers. God has truly blessed us!
-Kris
Update #2
by Project: Hope on Jan.15, 2009, under General
On Tuesday, over 100 people were seen at the clinic. Everyone was prayed for with 13 accepting Christ, seven that had never heard of Christ before. On the way back to the hotel, our truck got stuck in a very deep mud hole. It took 15 men to push it out.
On Wednesday, another 100 were treated and prayed for with four accepting Christ. One water filter was completed today. Thirty more filters will be made after we leave by those trained last year. People from one of the homes where a filter was installed last year were anxious to show us their clean water and how the filter was still working.
Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day for the clinic. We will be purchasing more vitamins and iron for the clinic in the morning. A VBS will be held in the afternoon.
On Friday we are hoping to visit one of the women’s prisons and give out different items brought for them.
Update 1 Monday
by Project: Hope on Jan.13, 2009, under General
The internet was down at both possible locations today , so this is an update from a conversation by phone. Sunday we attended church and then did door to door evangelism. We were able to pray with many people and two accepted Christ. The clinic was in operation today and 100 patients were seen, the most ever for our first day. We have four Haitian doctors and one Haitian nurse, giving us a total of six nurses in the clinic. We also had ten interpreters. The team was able to pray with almost all of the patients. Five accepted Christ and two of these had never heard of Jesus before today. The day went really well and every one is safe. We will try to post daily updates depending on availability of the internet. It is good to be here.
We’re set to fly!
by Project: Hope on Jan.08, 2009, under General
We had our final packing/planning meeting on Tuesday and we are ready to fly! God has provided in so many ways for this trip. We are set to depart at 7:50am on Saturday. Please keep us in your prayers. We’ll update you to let you know that we made it on our Miami to Haiti flight.
Last year, we were able to get some internet connection at the hotel. It was very spotty and unreliable, but we did have it. We have made this blog to update when we do get a connection. We’ll try to update it every night, but please be understanding that it may not happen.
Thanks again for everyone’s support and prayers.
